Southern Precast is part of the Lindsay Concrete Products group. Lindsay Concrete has been manufacturing concrete products since 1961. In 1986 it founded Southern Precast and opened a plant in Alachua, Florida. Initially Southern Precast manufactured one product. Within a year the facility was expanded and producing over twenty products. Since then the manufacturing and support facilities have gone through twelve expansions which support over one hundred fifty different products.

Southern Precast has been building a reputation as one of the finest designers and manufacturers of quality Precast concrete products for commercial, industrial, and public service construction applications. Our commitment to quality is demonstrated by our charter membership in the National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA). All of the Lindsay Group plants (see below) have met the certification standards set forth in the NPCA quality control program. In 2004 all four plants received a plaque for fifteen years of approval. Southern Precast is also approved by Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).
